Frequently Asked Questions
How does HearMe Connect work?
Choose a plan, schedule a call online, and one of our compassionate listeners will call you at your selected time.
What can we talk about?
Almost anything. Many people call to talk about their day, family, memories, hobbies, loneliness, life changes, or simply because they want someone to listen.
To keep everyone safe, we cannot provide:
-
Medical Advice
-
Mental Health Counseling or Therapy
-

-
Crisis Intervention
Is my problem too small to call about?
Never. Whether you're having a wonderful day, a difficult day, or simply want someone to chat with, your conversation matters. There is no problem too small when it comes to feeling heard.
What topics are not allowed?
How are the Listeners trained?
The Listeners go through a rigorous series of interviews. We look for compassionate, ethical, and caring people to join our team. Once they are selected, we have an extensive training sequence that simulates actual phone conversations. They are carefully evaluated a number of times before they make their first call.
Are your listeners therapists?
No. Our listeners are compassionate companions, not licensed therapists or counselors. Our goal is to provide friendly conversation, emotional support through listening, and meaningful human connection.
What if I just want someone to listen?
That's exactly why we're here. You don't need to have a crisis or a major life event. Sometimes the greatest comfort comes from having someone who listens with kindness, patience, and understanding.
Can I use my insurance?
No. Currently, HearMe Connect is a private pay companionship service and is not billed through health insurance. Because we are not a medical or therapy provider, insurances generally does not cover our services.
Is my conversation private?
Absolutely. We take your privacy very seriously. All conversations are strictly confidential and private. We never share your information with anyone else.
Do you record the conversations?
No. We make note of the time we start our connection and the time we end it, 20 minutes later.
Suppose I want to talk more than the 20 minutes?
No problem. We have several memberships. If the Listener's schedule allows, the call may be continued after a short break and a new plan is purchased.
